My 3 words for 2013

3 words

After reading another fine post from Chris Brogan, who by the way is bringing it post after post these
days (http://www.chrisbrogan.com/blog/), I decided to write my first ever 3 words for a new year.

Here they are:

Nature: get outside and explore. Ride bikes, camp, go to the beach, boat, surf, snowboard. Touch Goats.

Enjoy: have fun in the moment, stop worrying about what hasn't happened (and probably won't happen anyway).

Completion: follow through on ideas and projects. Complete, execute and then dominate.

I am making 2013 awesome and so should you.

3 Words - 2020

Here they are, my 3 words for 2020. Funny thing I can't find my 3 words from 2019, I know I had them just didn't blog them. Shouldn't have tossed out that post-it note. Oh well on with the present. 2020 3 Words: Resilience -  Resilience is defined as "   the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness." If  the craziness of 2019 taught me anything it's that I have to be more resilient.  Having endured multiple career setbacks in 2019 it would be easy to just give up, but what fun would that be. 2020 is my year so I'm going to be tough and manage to overcome the difficulties that life throws at me. Plan - I need to make a better effort of creating concrete plans and sticking to them. If the plan doesn't work scrap it and come up with a new one...but plan. For too long I have just shown up and left things to "fate" (more on that for a later post). Stillness - Create more time for meditation, reflection

2nd best ride ever!

Aloha... Well after a long, painful build process, I got to ride my new Single Speed Rossin custom this morning. What a great ride. It put such a big smile on my face. The only better ride I have ever had was a few years back when I rode a Turner MTB at Buckwallow. This bike is the result of my personal cycling/design style and the custom genius of my good friend Shawn Collison of Collison Custom Cycle (C3). (Also a shout out to the Dudes at Bike Zone Mississauga for their help). As an old time BMX guy, I have never been comfortable with gears. At the most I was using about 3 of the 21 + gears I have had on various bikes. That is why I love the Single Speed, no gears to mess with and a great looking style to boot. I am currently riding a 42 -16 gear ratio with a 700C x 23 wheel/tire combo . Worked out very well this morning, but I may need to experiment a little bit with the gearing. I will take some pictures and post tomorrow. The bike is awesome...can't wait to show you.
